Bend The Knee

Philippians 2:9-11 says that every knee will bow to the name of Jesus, but you really need to read 1-13 to get the fulll impact of that statement. John MacArthur says that Philippians 2:10-11 “affirms that the whole intelligent universe is called to worship Christ.” The only question then is at what point that’s going to happen. If we neglect to call Him Lord while we’re still on earth then we will be doing it in hell. Verses 12 and 13 to me are the crux of the message here. “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.” Since we will either bow the knee and call Him Lord here on earth and then in Heaven, or we won’t do it here and we will in hell. There is only one rational decision that can be made, and since man knows not his time the time is now!
