Read Luke 2:1-20 We’re all about to open gifts given from one to another. And while we’re in the process of unwrapping those gifts there will be a sense of excitement that will increase with each piece of paper that’s removed until finally we behold the gift that was given and we burst forth with joy and gratitude. This exchange is anticipated and looked forward to each and every year. Not only by David and Bit, but also by those with more seasons under their belts like me and Grandpa Clause. In fact tomorrow morning people will already begin the anticipation of next Christmas by making plans and starting the countdown again. But why wait 365 days to experience the joy again? We can and should greet each day with this same anticipation as we unwrap the gift of God’s word. We should turn each page with the excitement that we experience tearing the paper off the boxes at Christmas. In 2 Corinthians 9:15 Paul calls Jesus God’s indescribable gift. So instead of spending 365 days longing for Christmas let’s spend 526,320 minutes gazing on the true gift of Christmas. The indescribable gift of salvation offered to us by God the Father through Christ His son. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
