What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You want “your seat” at the dining room table, so you squable. This can be said of any desire that is not met according to your expectations. Philippians 2:3 gives us the solution to these quarrels. It says “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
