In 1 Corinthians 10:13 Paul wrote “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God“. Whatever you do, eating drinking, working at you job, bathing, working on your hobbies, your marriage, or whatever else you do it should be done to honor God!
If I work so much that I can’t, or won’t go to church on Sunday like I did for over a decade is that honoring God? If I neglect my family because of it does that honor God? No is the only answer you can come to honestly. Regardless of my intentions in working all the hours, if it results in dishonor then it’s become an idol. If my wife wants to go dancing, and I say no just because I don’t want to then that is selfish and doesn’t honor God so it’s sin.
